Mahmoud has track record of working both in the public and private sector.   He served as Special Assistant to a Minster of State for Defence in the Federal Cabinet and was a Bank Analyst/ Examiner at the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation.   He was invited to serve as a member of the Vision 2020 Business Support Group (BSG), an initiative of the Federal Government of Nigeria to be among the 20 most developed nations by Y2020.  His consulting roles has seen him work as the Principal Consultant at an Environmental Consultancy and a Senior Consultant of an Oil & Gas Consultancy.  An entrepreneur with ownership interest in the Agricultural sector and the hospitality industry.

He is a member of the Institute of Business Consultants (IBC) in the UK, a Member of the International Ombudsman Association (IOA) and the President of an NGO, The Human Trust Foundation (THTF) in Nigeria.  He was bestowed with the ‘Award for Excellence’, in 2016 by the International Islamic Relief Organisation (IIRO) based in Saudi Arabia for ‘services to humanity’.

Mahmoud has attended various executive education training programmes in business strategy and leadership most notably from the Columbia University Business School and the New York University (NYU) Stern School of Business in the United States of America (USA).  He also has certification in Prince 2 Project Management techniques from the University of Westminster in the UK.

He holds an MBA from the University of Hull in the United Kingdom, a Graduate Diploma in International Development from the University of London and a BSc Business Administration from the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria.  He attended the prestigious Nigerian Military School (NMS) in Zaria, Kaduna State.
